This randomized phase II trial studies how well iodine I-131 works with or without selumetinib in treating patients with thyroid cancer that has returned or has spread from where it started to other places in the body. Many thyroid cancers absorb iodine. Due to this, doctors often give radioactive iodine (iodine I-131) alone to treat thyroid cancer as part of standard practice. It is thought that the more thyroid tumors are able to absorb radioactive iodine, the more likely it is that the radioactive iodine will cause those tumors to shrink. Selumetinib may help radioactive iodine work better in patients whose tumors still absorb radioactive iodine. It is not yet known whether iodine I-131 is more effective with or without selumetinib in treating thyroid cancer.

Objectives and rationale: Optimal burn management involves removing all the dead or burned tissue as early as feasible and cover with an autograft called split thickness skin graft (STSG) taken from the patient. This procedure creates a new wound on the patient and sometimes, when the burn covers very large portion of the patient body, there is a lack of healthy skin to use for this purpose. Under those circumstances, donated cadaver skin is used as a temporary coverage until the patient´s own donor site wound has healed enough to be used again. The proposed clinical study aims to determine if treatment with fish skin is an alternative to cadaver skin as a temporary coverage for debrided full-thickness burns prior to STSG in terms of autograft take, time to heal, quality of healing (scarring), pain and adverse effects.

Enroll-HD is a longitudinal, observational, multinational study that integrates two former Huntington's disease (HD) registries—REGISTRY in Europe, and COHORT in North America and Australasia—while also expanding to include sites in Latin America. More than 20,000 participants have now enrolled into the study. With annual assessments and no end date, Enroll-HD has built a large and rich database of longitudinal clinical data and biospecimens that form the basis for studies developing tools and biomarkers for progression and prognosis, identifying clinically-relevant phenotypic characteristics, and establishing clearly defined endpoints for interventional studies. Periodic cuts of the database are now available to any interested researcher to use in their research - visit www.enroll-hd.org/for-researchers/access-data/ to learn more.

This is a phase II multicenter study including breast cancer patients with chest wall disease that is hormone resistant (estrogen receptor (ER) positive/progesterone receptor (PR) positive/human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) negative breast cancer with progressive disease on 2 prior lines of hormonal therapy) or triple negative (ER negative/PR negative/HER2 negative, TNBC). Eighty-four patients will be enrolled at Translational Breast Cancer Research Consortium (TBCRC) sites and will be randomized 2:1 to receive treatment with pembrolizumab and carboplatin (n=56, Arm A) or carboplatin alone (n=28, Arm B) until documented disease progression. Patients randomized to Arm B may cross-over following progression to pembrolizumab with or without carboplatin at investigator's discretion (Arm Bx). Patients may have received any number of prior lines of chemotherapy. Patients in Arm A will be treated with pembrolizumab 200 mg IV and carboplatin area under curve (AUC) 5 IV every 3 weeks for at least 6 cycles followed by maintenance pembrolizumab 200 mg IV every 3 weeks if stable or responding disease. Patients in Arm B will be treated with carboplatin AUC 5 IV every 3 weeks until progression, whereupon they may cross-over to pembrolizumab 200 mg IV every 3 weeks with or without carboplatin at investigator's discretion (Arm Bx). An interim analysis for futility will be performed after 18 patients are enrolled into Arm B to allow early stopping of that trial arm for lack of efficacy. The primary endpoint is to compare disease control rates at 18 weeks of treatment. Secondary endpoints include progression free survival, toxicity, and overall response rate.

This randomized phase III trial studies how well crizotinib works in treating patients with stage IB-IIIA non-small cell lung cancer that has been removed by surgery and has a mutation in a protein called anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK). Mutations, or changes, in ALK can make it very active and important for tumor cell growth and progression. Crizotinib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking the ALK protein from working. Crizotinib may be an effective treatment for patients with non-small cell lung cancer and an ALK fusion mutation.

The purpose of this study is to test the following hypotheses: 1. Enteral glutamine administration decreases in-hospital mortality in adult patients with severe thermal burn injuries. 2. Enteral glutamine administration decreases hospital-acquired blood stream infections from Gram negative organisms and length of stay in ICU and hospital for adult patients with severe thermal burn injuries. 3. Enteral glutamine administration will improve the physical function of surviving burn injured patients and reduce their cost of care. The objectives of this trial are to determine the overall treatment effect and safety of glutamine in burn patients. Specifically, the investigators want to assess the following outcomes in a sample of 1200 patients in 80 sites: 1. In patients with severe, life-threatening burn injury, what is the effect of enteral glutamine on time to discharge alive from hospital 2. In patients with severe, life-threatening burn injury, what is the effect of enteral glutamine on 6 month mortality, hospital-acquired blood stream infections from Gram negative organisms, hospital mortality, duration of stay in ICU and hospital, health-related quality of life, and health care resources?
