Treatment of Hypopigmented Scars With Bimatoprost

Patients who have hypo-pigmented burn scar will have two scars chosen and randomized to
treated scar and control scar. The subject will then have both scars treated with
fractional ablative CO2 laser (FLSR). The treated scar will have bimatoprost delivered
through the laser channels, while the cont1 expand
Patients who have hypo-pigmented burn scar will have two scars chosen and randomized to treated scar and control scar. The subject will then have both scars treated with fractional ablative CO2 laser (FLSR). The treated scar will have bimatoprost delivered through the laser channels, while the control will have the vehicle (normal saline) only delivered. The treatment will continue for 14 days with twice daily application. The scars will then be monitored at a 2-week follow-up visit where levels of melanin will be evaluated. Tissue punch biopsies will also be used to evaluate the mechanism of action of bimatoprost. Treatment will occur for 6 sessions at 4-6 week intervals including follow- up visits and evaluations. This study evaluates the safety and tolerability of treatment with K0706 in Dementia with Lewy Bodies (DLB). Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a chronic, systemic autoimmune disease characterized by B cell hyperactivity and Sjorgren's disease (SjD) is a chronic, multisystem autoimmune disease characterized by lacrimal and salivary gland inflammation, with resultant dryness of the eyes and mouth and occasional glandular enlargement. ABBV-319 exhibits potential B cell depletion in SLE and SjD which are characterized by B cell hyperactivity. The purpose of this study is to assess the pharmacokinetics, safety, and efficacy of ABBV-319 in adult participants with SLE or SjD. ABBV-319 is an investigational drug being developed for the treatment of SLE and SjD. Participants are placed in 1 of 6 groups called treatment arms. Each group receives a different dose of ABBV-319 depending on whether they have SLE or SjD. Around 36 adult participants with SLE or SjD will be enrolled at approximately 10 sites worldwide. Participants will receive 2 doses of IV ABBV-319 21 days apart and will be followed for up to 343 days. There may be higher treatment burden for participants in this trial compared to their standard of care (due to study procedures). Participants will attend regular visits during the study at a hospital or clinic. This phase III trial compares 6 months of human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-targeted therapy to 12 months of HER2-targeted therapy for the treatment of HER2-positive (+) breast cancer in patients that had a pathologic complete response (pCR) after preoperative (neoadjuvant) chemotherapy with trastuzumab. Trastuzumab and pertuzumab are monoclonal antibodies and forms of targeted therapy that attach to a receptor protein called HER2. HER2 is found on some cancer cells. When trastuzumab or pertuzumab attach to HER2, the signals that tell the cells to grow are blocked and the tumor cell may be marked for destruction by the body's immune system. Giving 6 months of HER2-targeted therapy may work better than giving 12 months for the treatment of HER2+ breast cancer in patients that had a pCR after neoadjuvant chemotherapy with trastuzumab. Standard treatment (usual treatment) for NSCLC is surgery, then immunotherapy with or without chemotherapy after surgery. Immunotherapy is a treatment that helps the immune system fight cancer. Chemotherapy is a medicine that works to destroy cancer cells or stop them from growing. However, standard treatment may not work or may stop working for some people. Researchers want to know if 2 antibody drug conjugates (ADCs) can help treat metastatic nonsquamous NSCLC that did not respond (get smaller or go away) to treatment. Transthyretin amyloidosis (ATTR) is a disease where the normally occurring transthyretin
(TTR) protein falls apart and forms amyloid, a sticky plaque-like substance that
accumulates in different organs in the body and can cause damage to the organ. There are
two ways that the TTR protein can fall a1 expand
Transthyretin amyloidosis (ATTR) is a disease where the normally occurring transthyretin (TTR) protein falls apart and forms amyloid, a sticky plaque-like substance that accumulates in different organs in the body and can cause damage to the organ. There are two ways that the TTR protein can fall apart. One way occurs as a person ages, where the normal TTR protein can fall apart and form amyloid that may no longer be sufficiently cleared by the body. This type of ATTR is known as wild-type ATTR (ATTRwt). The other way occurs when a person inherits a defective TTR gene that causes the TTR protein to spontaneously fall apart. This form of the disease is known as variant ATTR (ATTRv) and can be detected in adults by a genetic test of their TTR gene before they age. Amyloid build-up in the heart causes the heart wall to become thick and stiff and can result in heart failure and even death. Accumulation of TTR amyloid in the heart is known as transthyretin amyloid cardiomyopathy or ATTR-CM. Amyloid can also deposit in the nerve tissues leading to nerve problems. Accumulation of TTR in the nerves is known as transthyretin amyloid polyneuropathy or ATTR-PN. Acoramidis is an experimental drug designed to bind tightly to TTR in the blood and stabilize its structure, so it does not form the harmful amyloid plaques that can cause damage to organs. This study is intended to determine if treatment with acoramidis in participants with ATTRv who have not yet developed any symptoms of disease can prevent or delay the development of ATTR-CM or ATTR-PN disease. If adults with an inherited defective TTR gene are treated early before any of the symptoms of disease have developed, it may be possible to delay the onset or prevent the disease entirely. Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies1 expand
This phase III trial compares the addition of an immunotherapy drug (durvalumab) to usual chemotherapy versus usual chemotherapy alone in treating patients with MammaPrint High 2 Risk (MP2) stage II-III hormone receptor positive, HER2 negative breast cancer. Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as durvalumab, may help the body's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Chemotherapy drugs, such as paclitaxel, doxorubicin, and cyclophosphamide work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. There is some evidence from previous clinical trials that people who have a MammaPrint High 2 Risk result may be more likely to respond to chemotherapy and immunotherapy. Adding durvalumab to usual chemotherapy may be able to prevent the cancer from returning for patients with MP2 stage II-III hormone receptor positive, HER2 negative breast cancer. The purpose of this study is to learn about how well the 20-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (20vPnC) works against radiologically-confirmed community-acquired pneumonia (RAD+CAP) due to the 7 new serotypes (types of a bacteria called Streptococcus pneumoniae that cause pneumonia) included in 20vPnC vaccine. This study is seeking participants who: - are male or female ≥65 years of age. - are hospitalized with physician suspicion of community acquired pneumonia (CAP). - have pneumonia confirmed with imaging like a chest x-ray Participants will be asked to provide demographic and medical history information, and to provide a urine sample that will be used to test for pneumonia caused by specific strains of a bacteria called Streptococcus pneumoniae. We will compare the proportion of participants who have pneumonia caused by specific strains of the bacteria Streptococcus pneumoniae and were previously vaccinated with 20vPnC with the proportion of participants who have pneumonia caused by something other than vaccine type Streptococcus pneumoniae and have been vaccinated with 20vPnC. Participants will actively take part in the study for about 1-2 days. Results with chemotherapy combined with full-dose radiation therapy leads to high rates of cure; this has called into question whether therapy can be decreased in intensity since both chemotherapy and radiation have long-term side effects. One approach to decrease intensity of treatment is to give radiation alone (excluding chemotherapy) and to decrease radiation therapy dose. The investigator believes that omitting chemotherapy and decreasing radiation dose both to tumor and the regions of the head and neck at highest risk of potential spread, may have no significant impact on the cancer recurring while potentially leading to fewer long-term side effects. Researchers are looking for other ways to treat metastatic squamous non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Squamous NSCLC is cancer that starts in squamous cells, which are flat cells that line the inside of the airways in the lungs. Metastatic means the cancer has spread to other parts of the body. Standard treatment (usual treatment) for metastatic squamous NSCLC is immunotherapy with or without chemotherapy. Immunotherapy is a treatment that helps the immune system fight cancer. Chemotherapy is medicine that destroys cancer cells or stops them from growing. However, standard treatment may not work or may stop working to treat metastatic squamous NSCLC. Researchers want to learn if study treatments that are antibody drug conjugates (ADCs) can treat metastatic squamous NSCLC that did not respond (get smaller or go away) to standard treatment. An ADC attaches to a protein on cancer cells and delivers treatment to destroy those cells. The main goals of this study are to learn about: - The cancer response to the study treatments compared to chemotherapy - The safety of the study treatments and if people tolerate them This study is one of the substudies being conducted under one pembrolizumab umbrella master protocol (MK-3475-U01/KEYMAKER-U01). This is a Phase 2 multicenter, randomized, double-blinded, placebo-controlled study that will evaluate the safety and efficacy of host-directed therapeutics in hospitalized adults diagnosed with Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) utilizing a platform trial design.
